Over Powered

I realized this morning as I was getting ready for work that I either take too many showers or my deodorant is over powered.

48 hour protection?  Should I only use half as much as I normally would?  24 hour protection would be above and beyond what I would consider sufficient.

48 hour?  In America?  That is just over powered deodorant. Who in the marketing team went to that meeting and everyone around the table agreed that they needed 48 hour protection?  It seems like I'm not getting the full benefit of this product because I take a shower every morning.   Next time I buy I think I'm going to just look for the 16 hour protection.

New TV!

We picked up a new television today.  It was pretty cheap but now I need some help because I'm trying to get Netflix to work on it.

Someone suggested I need to adjust the antenna.  I am open to other suggestions.

Apple a Day

We took advantage of a beautiful day and drove up to Flat Rock, NC to visit Sky Top Orchards to do some apple picking.   We had never been before but quickly realized the popularity of this place when we arrived.  There were people everywhere and the parking lot was so large and busy they had guys directing traffic.

Once we grabbed some baskets and headed for the fields it didn't feel very crowded at all and we had a great time searching for the perfect apple.
I don't even remember what kind of apples we were searching for.   There are red ones, yellow ones, and some that look (and taste) like a pear.   When we had left the barn I didn't take a basket.  I was going to just help and take pictures.

After a bit of apple picking I was handed a basket.  It was mostly full and heavy.  I tried to give it to the youngest daughter...

We also realized that the best apples were higher up in the trees.  This meant the lightest one was going up for these.

It doesn't take long to fill several baskets of apples.  But when you realize you have enough (more than enough) you are at the bottom of the hill on the edge of the orchards and have to tote all of these apples back to the barn.
Who knew that picking apples on a "fall" day would be so awesome?  Apparently a lot of people, because we were all out there.

Before leaving Hendersonville, we drove over to Fresh Market where we were told by Cari we couldn't buy anything apple related. So this was a no. . .

Finally, we stopped at Haus Heidelberg.  A German restaurant in Hendersonville, where my daughters promptly ordered chicken fingers.

With marching band picking up now it will be tough to find time for adventures so I'm glad we took advantage of this day to do it.

Not While MOM is Looking

We were at a dinner recently and Cari was talking with some friends at our table when I looked over to see this. . .

I thought it was pretty entertaining so I pulled my phone out and snapped a photo of her buttering her bread with her hands.

Seeing my approval she decided to get additional praise by getting her mom's attention.  I tried to stop her.  Really I did.  I already knew the reaction would not be what she was hoping for and then I would suddenly become equally as guilty because "dad thought it was funny".

She ignored my warning and continued to fight for mom's attention.  When she got it, my prediction came true.   Maybe next time she will listen to me.
