Spring Break!

Since the kids are on spring break this week, Cari and I decided to spend one day and take a day trip.  

Our idea was to head into Atlanta and visit the aquarium.  We went shortly after it opened and it was a great place.  Cari started prepping our trip and found the tickets are little higher than we had remembered.  $35 each.  For five of us.  Hmm... need a new plan. 

How about heading down to Columbia, SC and visit the state museum?  Cari checked that out for us too.  They are closed on Monday's.  The one day that we had to go.  

Option C was the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia.  Cari called the zoo to check on discounted tickets and they told her they were expecting record crowds all week.  Not what we were hoping to hear.  

Monday morning came quick and we took our time loading up the car.  We headed down to Anderson to visit the park at the civic center.  This was a free option that the kids would enjoy as much as most other options. 

After lunch, the girls fed the ducks at the pond.

 And then we hit the massive playground.

 Before leaving, I requested a family picture.  That wasn't the most popular idea of the day, but it turned out good.

Since we saved so much money not going to the Aquarium or Columbia, I made one more request.  A trip to the game store.  My request was approved and an hour later we were driving home with a new game to wrap up our spring break day out.
